About the Job: The Senior Open Source Security Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, hardening, and operating the company's open-source security tooling stack across multiple domains including detection, application security, identity, secrets, vulnerability management, and infrastructure hardening. This hands-on engineering role offers end-to-end ownership from selecting tools to long-term operations, upgrades, and mentoring of junior staff. The engineer will serve as the internal expert for open-source security technology and will represent the company in the broader open-source security community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and harden open-source security tools across various security domains.
  • Integrate open-source tools with the broader security ecosystem and build automation around them.
  • Provide operational support, monitor tool health, manage upgrades, and handle security incidents.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools, conduct proofs-of-concept, and maintain a roadmap aligned with security frameworks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and enhance team capabilities through knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5–8 years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience, particularly with open-source security tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux systems administration and scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible is required, Terraform and Helm are a plus).
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals, authentication protocols, and security best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Desirable Skills:

  • Active GitHub presence with contributions to open-source security projects.
  • Industry certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, or equivalent.
