We are looking for a Senior Operations Manager: AI Automation to lead how we use AI and automation across Operations, including Customer Support and Financial Crime.
You will own the automation roadmap, which involves deciding what to automate, sizing and ranking each opportunity, and then building, testing, and rolling out the automations with the teams who use them. You’ll redesign processes so that AI handles tasks efficiently, fixed rules cover predictable outcomes, and human input is reserved for decisions requiring judgment. Collaboration with operational managers, control owners, Product and Engineering teams is essential, along with leading a small team of one to two people.
Responsibilities:
- Own the automation roadmap and increase the share of automated tasks across Operations.
- Identify opportunities by analyzing where time is lost, errors occur, or work is repeated; prioritizing based on a clear baseline and measurable value.
- Redesign processes by collaborating with users and control owners to determine where AI adds value, where fixed rules are more suitable, and where a human decision is necessary.
- Build prototypes and working automations; collaborate with Product and Engineering on integrations and production support.
- Conduct testing against real conditions, including handling incomplete inputs and unexpected outputs; verify data, permissions, and controls before launch; ensure human review and manual fallback are established.
- Lead the rollout process with operational managers and support colleagues through the adoption of new systems.
- Track quality, usage, and benefits against baseline metrics; review and support costs, resolve failures, and document ownership, monitoring, and recovery processes post-launch.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in operations, process excellence, automation, or a similar field.
- Proven hands-on experience in building and launching AI and automation in live operations, with demonstrable measurable results.
- Ability to size opportunities and convert them into a prioritized roadmap.
- Experience in redesigning processes with operational teams and control owners in regulated or control-heavy environments.
- Knowledge of testing AI workflows and designing human review and exception handling processes.
- Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering teams, as well as managing direct reports.
Nice to have:
- Background in financial services, fintech, brokerage, or payments.
- Experience with automation in Customer Support, KYC, or Financial Crime/AML sectors.
- Practical use of LLM APIs, workflow tools such as n8n, and proficiency in Python or SQL.
