Position

The Senior PMO Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation and ongoing management of the Project Management Office (PMO) framework across the organization. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of project delivery by introducing and maintaining best practices, governance, and performance standards.

Acting as a key driver of project excellence, the Senior PMO Manager ensures that all project-related information — including deliverables, risks, and issues — is effectively captured, communicated, and addressed. The role requires close collaboration with project leaders, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to streamline execution and align delivery with strategic business objectives.

A highly customer-focused and leadership-oriented position, the Senior PMO Manager is also responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the PMO, ensuring smooth interfacing between departments and maintaining alignment with client expectations. This position holds end-to-end accountability for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and according to defined scope, while consistently meeting business requirements and quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • PMO Strategy & Setup

    • Establish and implement standardized PMO frameworks, tools, templates, and methodologies across all CNS projects.
    • Define, measure, and monitor PMO objectives in alignment with CNS’s broader strategic goals and business priorities.
    • Foster a high-performance delivery culture rooted in consistency, transparency, agility, and operational efficiency.
  • Project Governance & Execution

    • Oversee end-to-end delivery of all CNS projects and programs, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
    • Conduct regular project reviews to assess status, risks, dependencies, and corrective actions.
    • Monitor adherence to internal delivery standards, client SLAs, and governance protocols, ensuring stakeholder accountability.
  • Talent & Capability Development

    • Build and maintain a strong PMO team by driving skills development, training programs, mentoring initiatives, and formal certifications.
    • Conduct capacity planning and performance evaluations to align PMO resources with current and future business demands.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as a central escalation point for high-risk project issues and governance challenges, ensuring timely resolution.
    • Collaborate with internal business units to align project priorities, streamline dependencies, and eliminate delivery roadblocks.
    • Provide regular updates to senior leadership and external clients on program health, project portfolio performance, and strategic outcomes.
  • Delivery Excellence

    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize PMO operations through KPIs, feedback loops, and benchmarking.
    • Support project teams with advanced guidance on estimation, scope definition, change management, and conflict resolution.
    • Step in as needed to support high-priority internal or client-facing projects to ensure delivery continuity and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is mandatory.
    • Additional professional certifications (preferred for hybrid environments):
      • Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe).
  • Experience

    • 8–10 years of experience in project and program management.
    • 3–5 years in a PMO leadership role, managing teams and large project portfolios.
    • Proven track record of delivering successful projects in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Skills & Competencies

    • Strategic thinking with the ability to align PMO initiatives to business goals.
    • Expertise in various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
    • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Process-driven mindset with a focus on quality and consistency in delivery.
    • Effective communication and executive-level reporting skills.
    • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet).
    • Ability to lead change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Customer-focused approach with a strong commitment to service excellence.
