Key Responsibilities

Technical Competency

  • Ensure team adherence to engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Support standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
  • Contribute to understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Use local/global standards to promote technical excellence.
  • Supervise project-designated process designers and draftsmen.
  • Prepare and review specifications and data sheets.
  • Conduct bid evaluations and review vendor documents.
  • Engage in technical writing activities including reports and operating manuals.
  • Manage studies and assigned process-oriented projects.

Project Execution

  • Understand project scope, cost, and time requirements; assist the team in meeting expectations.
  • Implement innovative solutions and technologies to manage project challenges.
  • Support the Lead Engineer in monitoring quality and addressing issues where necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation including proposals, estimates, budgets, and schedules.
  • Manage process design and changes within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Prepare and participate in weekly process discipline meetings.
  • Review and approve technical documents in coordination with the Lead Engineer.
  • Execute engineering tasks in accordance with best practices focusing on cost, operability, and safety.

Project Deliverables

  • Gather data and prepare engineering analyses and calculations.
  • Identify technical issues and propose alternative solutions through official project documentation.
  • Create final documentation incorporating all relevant information for customer approval.
  • Review and authorize work completed by direct reports.
  • Evaluate new technology advancements and revise design standards as necessary.
  • Perform engineering services including identifying scope changes and preparing designs and specifications.
  • Provide assistance during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Liaise with other engineers and disciplines to ensure timely production of deliverables.

Procurement Support

  • Incorporate information from multiple sources into equipment and material specifications.
  • Review and authorize documentation from direct reports.

Site Support

  • Participate in reviews to ensure constructability, operability, and maintainability are incorporated into designs.
  • Create plans supporting construction operations and maintenance.

Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to guidelines of Quality Assurance systems in project execution.

Safety

  • Follow personal safety and OH&S procedures to promote health, safety, and environmental awareness.

Job Specific Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 12 years in process design in the oil and gas industry with experience in both Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
  • Familiarity with ADNOC VIP/VAP Assurance processes and API Standards.
  • Experience in various phases of the project lifecycle with expertise in feasibility and conceptual engineering.
  • Proficient with process simulation packages and pipeline modeling software.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.

Education & Qualifications

  • Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or in progress is preferred.
