Role Overview:
We seek a Senior UI/UX Designer with deep expertise in human factors, UX research, and the design of mission-critical systems. This role will lead the design of our next-generation Defence Fleet Management System (FMS), a real-time command, control, and monitoring platform for operators in mission-critical environments. The successful candidate will excel in complex system design and high-cognitive-load decision environments, defining interaction models, workflows, and design principles to ensure safe and intuitive operation of the system.
Responsibilities:
- Design intuitive, scalable UI systems based on human factors, cognitive psychology, and operator ergonomics for complex, mission-critical workflows.
- Set and evolve design vision, ensuring a consistent, user-centered experience across all touchpoints.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to understand user needs and contexts.
- Apply human factors principles to guide product design decisions.
- Identify UX risks and advocate for a culture of continuous discovery during product development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design with product vision and technical feasibility.
- Build and maintain a design system optimized for defence interfaces, including data-dense displays and alert hierarchies.
- Influence product strategy through a comprehensive understanding of user needs and system behavior.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience designing user interfaces for complex software systems, ideally in defense, enterprise, or mission-critical environments.
- Background in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Human-Centered Design, or related fields.
- Strong portfolio showcasing excellent execution across data-rich and workflow-heavy interfaces.
- Ability to translate complex system behavior into clear visual language and intuitive interaction models.
- Strong collaboration skills; comfortable working with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and Miro.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with software tools that support real-time operations or logistics.
- Background in Human-Centered Design or UX research.
