About the Role
At the company, we are building the digital backbone of commerce in the region, supporting thousands of merchants in starting, growing, and scaling their businesses. This role focuses on the catalog, which serves as the underlying structure for storefronts, search, and recommendations across all channels where merchants sell. Your responsibility is to ensure both the catalog that merchants build and the corresponding store that buyers experience work seamlessly together.

The company does not create the catalog; instead, it is built by merchants, freelancers, operations staff, or agencies. The end-user, the buyer, interacts with this catalog indirectly, primarily assessing product availability and trustworthiness. Your mission is to optimize and transform this data into a high-conversion store experience. You will manage four product managers overseeing Catalog and Store, and your performance will be measured against key metrics.

Areas of impact include product data input, structure and meaning, AI enrichment, store experience, search, and overall data performance downstream.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy for Catalog and Store as an integrated system, allowing new categories or selling methods to be implemented through configuration rather than requiring a rebuild.
  • Own the creation and enhancement of product data, defining quality based on downstream performance instead of merely the number of filled fields.
  • Manage the buyer’s journey from search to purchase, ensuring search relevance, product page effectiveness, and product availability.
  • Design processes with the end-user in mind, particularly for those entering data who may not own the store, ensuring usability and efficiency.
  • Employ AI strategically to build trust, deciding on the data generated, suggestions made, and untouched areas based on learnings from corrections.
  • Utilize AI to guide merchants from having a blank store to launching a well-designed, market-ready storefront.
  • Validate strategic decisions based on anticipated outcomes; conduct experiments when traffic allows, measure results where it does not, and discontinue ineffective practices.
  • Determine the level of structure to impose, balancing merchant autonomy with adherence to external channel requirements.
  • Lead and mentor four product managers (two focusing on Catalog and two on Store), granting them ownership while coaching their development and raising the overall quality of deliverables.

Requirements

  • A minimum of six years in product management, particularly with self-serve platforms where users generate their own data and you maintain its quality.
  • Proven ability to impact metrics through changes made at the data entry point, rather than through post-entry clean-up.
  • Direct experience overseeing buyer-facing commerce features such as search, discovery, or product pages, with demonstrable improvements in conversion rates and validation through experiments.
  • Experience implementing AI for structured data, with clear insights into confidence thresholds, error rates, and corrective measures taken at scale.
  • Strong understanding of product data structuring, including taxonomies, attributes, variants, identifiers, matching, and the requirements imposed by external channels.
  • A focus on outcomes rather than just roadmaps; ability to set a repeatable strategy and experience managing and mentoring product managers while remaining engaged in the craft.
  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English, with preferred experience in regional merchant contexts, and a willingness to work on-site in Saudi Arabia.
