Senior Product Technical Support Engineer

As a Senior Product Technical Support Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will play a vital role in a team focused on assembling GIS components and modules into complete bays. Your responsibilities will include performing routine tests through a lean and flow production line, aiming for optimum quality, cost effectiveness, and timely delivery. You will be instrumental in maintaining quality control standards, improving manufacturing processes, and fostering a safe and clean work environment. Your role also includes leading other technicians and aiding new team members in developing their competencies.

Responsibilities:

• Perform assembly, repair, and routine testing (Mechanical, 10KV, HV, functional, and resistance measurements) of GIS bays according to work instructions, drawings, bill of materials, checklists, guidelines, and customer order data.
• Ensure compliance with assigned production data and instructions, complete work packages accurately, and maintain quality assurance processes.
• Identify and escalate quality issues promptly and document any deviations.
• Support product improvement by gathering feedback from GIS Local Service Center engineers.
• Promote teamwork, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and follow safety, quality, and environmental guidelines.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of Lean manufacturing.
• Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for personal actions while caring for colleagues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a production facility focused on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Preferred experience with products such as ELK04C, ELK04, ELK03, and ELK14.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient understanding of technical drawings and material lists.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of lean concepts and waste minimization.
• Language Requirements: Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
