Reports To
The Senior Project Engineer reports to the Manager of Projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist Project Managers in the execution of projects.
  • Participate in project review meetings, HSE workshops, design review meetings, etc.
  • Monitor work in progress and prepare weekly reports on the status of each assignment.
  • Ensure project deliverables are submitted as per planned schedule.
  • Ensure interfaces/requirements between all disciplines are incorporated where required to achieve objectives.
  • Report project progress and close-outs weekly for presentation to management.
  • Interpret clients' requirements and monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide technical support.
  • Evaluate, organize, and prioritize workload within a schedule.
  • Demonstrate sufficient technical knowledge to recognize developing technical problems and initiate corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and input during project implementation.
  • Participate in project reviews and pre-start-up reviews as required.
  • Review technical proposals and amend them to ensure viability.
  • Attend company-organized training courses when invited.
  • Ensure adherence to the company's health, safety, environmental, and quality rules while performing activities according to company standards.
  • Ensure safe, quality, timely, and cost-efficient project implementation, high resource capacity utilization, and efficiency in projects.
  • Suggest training and improvements based on needs.
  • Ensure that software for projects is available and effectively utilized.
  • Act as the frontline contact with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers during projects.
  • Report efficiently, timely, and proactively to management on project activities, deviations, and achievements, at least on a weekly basis.
  • Measure and report reliably on project progress, productivity efficiency, remaining work, cost, and time for accurate revenue and cost recognition and financial forecasting.
  • Suggest and implement timely improvements in overall performance.
  • Lead project control, engineering, and procurement work in assigned projects.
  • Ensure the agreed project deliverables are delivered according to quality, scope, and schedule.
  • Verify scope variations from a scope, time, and cost perspective, presenting findings to management.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, energy, and environmental objectives.

Preferred Skills & Requirements

  • Engineering graduate (BSc. or MSc.)
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in project management and control, with at least 10 years in the Oil & Gas, refining, petrochemical, and chemical industries.
  • Experience in all stages of project delivery (studies, FEED, and detailed engineering).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong people management skills with a solid understanding of customer interface.
  • Willingness and ability to meet tight deadlines and overcome challenges during peak activities.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and written.

  • Team player with a hardworking, problem-solving attitude; readiness to join on short notice is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of project control and scheduling.
  • Any locally or internationally recognized professional certifications and affiliations are a plus (PMP certification preferred).
  • Must meet UAE visa requirements.
