About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator with strong expertise in enterprise OpenShift environments, automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitOps, cloud migration, and platform engineering. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience managing large-scale OpenShift clusters and a strong understanding of the underlying infrastructure, networking, security, virtualization, and automation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, upgrade, and manage large-scale Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Perform OpenShift platform administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, performance optimization, and capacity management.
  • Design and implement automation for OpenShift infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Manage infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
  • Implement and maintain GitOps-driven configuration management and deployment using tools such as Argo CD.
  • Support migration of enterprise applications and workloads to cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git-based workflows.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, and operational activities.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for application packaging and deployment.
  • Work closely with development, infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams to resolve complex platform issues.
  • Integrate OpenShift and enterprise platforms through REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Develop API consumers/publishers and support integration with external systems.
  • Support high-availability architectures and ensure platform reliability and resilience.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving OpenShift, networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, certificates, load balancers, firewalls, Active Directory, and infrastructure components.

Mandatory Technical Skills

  • Red Hat OpenShift

    • Strong hands-on expertise in Red Hat OpenShift Administration.
    • Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator certification preferred/required.
    • Extensive experience with installation, configuration, upgrades, automation, troubleshooting, and management of enterprise OpenShift clusters.
    • Experience with OpenShift Virtualization / KubeVirt.
  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation

    • Expert-level experience with:
      • Terraform
      • Ansible
      • Jenkins
    • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, orchestration, and automation practices.
  • CI/CD & GitOps

    • Strong experience implementing GitOps-based deployment models.
    • Hands-on experience with Argo CD / ArgoCD.
    • Strong knowledge of Jenkins pipeline development.
    • Ability to write and maintain Jenkinsfiles using Groovy.
    • Experience with Helm and Helm chart development.
  • Scripting & Automation

    • Excellent scripting/programming capabilities using:
      • Bash
      • PowerShell
      • Python
      • Groovy
      • Helm / Helm Templates

API & Integration

  • Strong understanding of API communications and integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Ability to develop and integrate API consumers and publishers.
  • Understanding of authentication, communication protocols, and enterprise API integration patterns.

Infrastructure & Networking Knowledge

  • Strong conceptual and practical understanding of enterprise infrastructure, including:
    • DNS architecture and troubleshooting
    • Authoritative and Non-Authoritative DNS
    • Dynamic DNS
    • BIND DNS
    • DNS Forwarders
    • Load Balancers
    • Site Selectors
    • Firewalls
    • High Availability architectures
    • Network communication and traffic flows
    • SSL/TLS communication
    • SSL handshake and certificate validation
    • Cipher Suites and encryption algorithms

Security & Identity

  • Strong understanding of enterprise security concepts, including:
    • Active Directory
    • Security Organizational Units (OUs)
    • Active Directory policies
    • Digital certificates
    • SAN certificates
    • Client authentication
    • Keystores
    • Mutual SSL / mTLS
    • SSL/TLS security
    • Secrets and privileged-access management
  • Experience with enterprise vault and secrets-management technologies such as:
    • HashiCorp Vault
    • CyberArk

OpenShift & Platform Engineering
The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of:

  • OpenShift architecture and components
  • Kubernetes concepts and orchestration
  • Containerized application platforms
  • OpenShift networking
  • Storage and persistent volumes
  • Cluster security
  • High availability and disaster recovery concepts
  • OpenShift Virtualization / KubeVirt
  • Platform automation
  • Enterprise workload migration
  • Cloud-native application deployment

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of overall experience in relevant technical positions, preferably within large enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting enterprise-scale OpenShift platforms.
  • Proven experience with automation, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience working with complex enterprise infrastructure and security environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple technical teams and stakeholders in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator certification.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform.
  • Experience implementing GitOps and Argo CD.
  • Experience with cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Experience supporting highly available and business-critical enterprise platforms.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or other large regulated environments is highly desirable.
