Senior Research Engineer

About the Role
As a Sr. Research Engineer, you will be responsible for building AI systems that can perform previously improbable tasks or achieve unprecedented levels of performance. We're looking for individuals with solid engineering skills, such as designing, implementing, and improving massive-scale distributed machine learning systems. You will write bug-free machine learning code and develop the science behind the algorithms employed. Outstanding deep learning results are increasingly attained at a massive scale, requiring engineers who are comfortable working in large distributed systems.

What You’ll Bring

• Past experience in creating high-performance implementations of deep learning algorithms
• Experience working in large distributed systems
• Ability to provide technical perspective to develop ML best practices and influence the engineering culture within the team
• In-depth knowledge of how the machine learning system interacts with surrounding systems
• Ability to evaluate the tradeoffs of different ML models/systems and deploy best ML practices
• Experience with Data/Feature Engineering, Training, Evaluation, and Deployment of ML models

What You’ll Do

• Run at least small-scale ML experiments
• Enjoy figuring out how systems work and continuously come up with ideas for improving performance while minimizing complexity and maintenance burden
• Possess strong software engineering skills and proficiency in Python
• Be comfortable working with researchers to enable them in developing the next generation of models.
