About the Role:
We are looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Resident Engineer specializing in roads and infrastructure to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will represent the company with clients and subcontractors, manage projects, and ensure that all deliverables meet high-quality standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Mobilize company resources to create effective project teams capable of delivering quality work.
- Act as the company representative with the client and selected subcontractors throughout the program execution.
- Negotiate changes to the scope of work with clients and key subcontractors.
- Follow up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
- Oversee the establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other necessary documentation.
- Establish program requirements for all areas of the project and monitor draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
- Collaborate with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
- Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
- Work with key project individuals to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work, advising clients and company management accordingly.
- Maintain current and timely change orders.
- Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through the application of Quality Assurance processes.
- Monitor and report to management on project activity progress, including significant milestones and conditions affecting cost or schedule.
- Establish weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 20 years experience delivering large-scale roads and infrastructure programs.
- Ideally, 5 years of experience on Abu Dhabi projects.
- Proven ability to manage projects, interface with clients, and have hands-on technical involvement.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards; must meet the company's project management certification requirements.
- Demonstrated management capability with excellent written and oral communication skills.
