About the Role / About the Job
The company is seeking an experienced Senior Resident Engineer for a large roads project. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for managing the activities and efficiency of staff under their supervision to ensure satisfactory project execution. The successful candidate will be tasked with building and maintaining an organization capable of providing necessary staking, testing, and inspection services to ensure the project adheres to all plans and specifications. Rapid familiarization with the project plans, specifications, and amendments is essential for effective administration of the work.

Job Duties

  • Monitor the client’s program or progress report.
  • Ensure the Client’s compliance with the Contract Documents.
  • Inspect all workmanship and materials.
  • Coordinate the supply of vertical and horizontal controls for the Client’s projects.
  • Conduct layout checks regarding online and grade measurements.
  • Coordinate with other Clients.
  • Maintain all file records on designated forms, including reports on work force, equipment, progress, and safety.
  • Review and approve the Client’s shop drawings.
  • Conduct soil and materials testing as per the provisions in the Contract Documents and Specifications.
  • Responsible for managing the Contract and will not relieve the Clients of his responsibilities without authorization.
  • Oversee the final materials submittals and obtain approval.
  • Check and certify progress payments to the Clients.
  • Review personnel, equipment, and material costs for all Variation Orders and Change Orders under the Contract terms.
  • Evaluate requests for additional compensation and time extension.
  • Prepare Variation Orders for all ‘Additional’ and ‘New’ works.
  • Compile and prepare the Monthly Report.
  • Monitor site safety, including documenting monitoring activities, meetings, safety violations, rectification measures, and accident reports in the Monthly Progress Report.
  • Determine proper costs for additions or credits due to the Client when necessary and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Inspect safety conditions and inform the Clients of any construction safety violations, with follow-up action required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience with RTA projects is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, focusing on managing large-scale projects including Roads, Bridges & Underpasses.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure development, construction methodologies, and quality control processes.
  • Excellent project management skills, including budget and schedule management.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel as required for project needs.
