As a Senior Full Stack SW Robotics Engineer, you will be part of the Autonomous Robotics Research Centre (ARRC) at TII. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of autonomous drones for various applications, pushing the boundaries of innovation in robotics. You will collaborate with a team of researchers and engineers to design, develop, and integrate algorithms to empower drones with autonomy.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to design, develop, test, and integrate software stacks into our autonomous drone platform.
  • Design and implement robust and scalable software architecture for the drone, ensuring efficient communication between sensors, control systems, and navigation algorithms.
  • Implement sensor fusion techniques to enhance perception and localization capabilities for navigation in dynamic environments.
  • Enforce coding standards and best practices within the team to maintain code consistency and quality.
  • Write efficient and easily readable code and manage pull requests, providing constructive feedback.
  • Conduct thorough testing, simulation, and validation of the software components, identifying and resolving issues for reliable performance.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, and other components, ensuring seamless communication with the software stack.
  • Utilize expertise in ROS/ROS2 to integrate new algorithms with existing robotics frameworks.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics and drone technology to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.

Requirements:

  • Strong software architecture and design skills.
  • Strong programming capabilities in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) specialized in deploying models on NVIDIA platforms.
  • Proven experience with ROS and ROS2 software development and integration.
  • Familiarity with sensor fusion, perception, and autonomous navigation.
  • Knowledge of computer vision and optimization of algorithms for embedded systems.
  • Best practices of software development (Git, CI).
  • Capable of working in Unix systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent written and spoken English.
  • Experience with real-world applications on autonomous drones.
  • Knowledge of PX4 and/or other autopilots.
  • Experience with simulation tools like Gazebo.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and task management tools (Jira or similar).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
