The Maneuver Dominance team develops multi-asset autonomy that makes large groups of autonomous systems work cohesively. This role involves designing, developing, and integrating software to connect autonomous platforms with mission payloads, including stores management systems (SMS), networked devices, and hardware interfaces. Senior Robotics Software Engineers will architect APIs and data transport layers to facilitate reliable communication in demanding environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer scalable software for networking devices and managed networks.
  • Design software for interfacing with stores management systems (SMS) and control of munitions.
  • Architect software APIs and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Build and optimize low-level data transport over UDP and TCP.
  • Write hardware-interfacing software for embedded devices and sensors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and system teams.
  • Travel up to 25% for testing and deploying systems.
  • Contribute throughout the software lifecycle, from prototyping to deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and debug deployed systems for reliability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in C++ and/or Rust, with strong programming skills in adjacent languages considered.
  • Experience with software interactions involving networking devices, API/ICD design, and understanding of data transport layers (UDP, TCP).
  • Capability to develop interfacing software for hardware devices and sensors.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for system testing and deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with stores management systems (SMS) or related defense platforms.
  • Familiarity with aerospace integration standards and vehicle bus protocols.
  • Background in designing fault-tolerant distributed systems and real-time systems.
  • Additional programming skills in Python, Go, or other scripting languages for automation.
