Senior Security Specialist (Crypto / Digital Assets)

We are seeking a Senior Security Specialist with deep expertise in cryptocurrency to lead security efforts within our regulated digital asset business. This role will be critical as we expand our offerings in spot trading, custody, staking, and on-chain services, with a primary focus on securing the foundation of our business.

As the security owner for our crypto platform, you will manage architecture, engineering, operations, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will secure a cloud-native exchange and custody stack, protect client digital assets and key material, and ensure our security measures align with regulations across various jurisdictions. Close collaboration with risk, compliance, product, and engineering teams is expected, and you will report to the central security function.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who understands the critical nature of digital asset custody and builds controls accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Digital Asset and Custody Security:

  • Manage the custody stack, including key management and transaction authorization.
  • Oversee hot/cold wallet segregation and key ceremonies.

• Platform, Cloud, and Application Security:

  • Design and implement cloud security across a multi-account AWS environment.
  • Secure the Kubernetes platform and embed DevSecOps practices into the software development lifecycle.

• Threat Detection, Response, and Testing:

  • Establish threat detection and monitoring protocols.
  • Manage incident response processes, including breach notifications.

• Third-party and Vendor Security:

  • Conduct security assessments for vendor platforms and ensure compliance.

• Regulatory, Resilience, and Governance:

  • Align controls with various regulations and maintain the security policy framework.

• AI Security:

  • Secure integrations with AI technologies against emerging threats.

Qualifications:

• Required:

  • 6+ years in information security, with roles as a senior security engineer, architect, or lead.
  • Direct experience with crypto custody, digital asset security, and an understanding of blockchain technology.
  • A strong background in cloud security, particularly with AWS, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and API security.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.

• Preferred:

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP.
  • Experience with regulatory frameworks and familiarity with AI security concerns.
