Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Canonical is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in various sectors, including public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be part of a team that is redefining enterprise infrastructure DevOps with a focus on automation and Python infrastructure-as-code.

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing next-gen operations at scale from bare metal to containers and applications, running hundreds of private cloud and Kubernetes clusters for customers, practising devsecops across the infrastructure, and collaborating on operational strategies while ensuring the reliability of mission-critical services for global brand-name customers.

Work Conditions: This is a fully remote position. Team members are expected to meet in person twice a year for company events, lasting up to two weeks each.

Requirements:

• Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• Experience with Linux, including Linux networking and storage.
• Proficiency in Python software development.
• Operational experience and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with OpenStack or Kubernetes deployment or operations.
• Familiarity with public or private cloud management.
