We are currently seeking a Senior Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer to join our Information Systems (IS) team. This role is designed for an "automation-first" technologist who is passionate about Linux, and aims to enhance our IT operations through infrastructure automation. You will be responsible for running services for over 60 million Ubuntu users.
As a Senior Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Driving the development of automation and Gitops within your team.
- Collaborating with the IS architect to align solutions with the architectural vision.
- Designing services that the IS team can offer as products.
- Improving infrastructure as code practices and automation processes within the IS team.
- Automating software operations to ensure reusability and consistency across private and public clouds.
- Maintaining operational responsibility for all core services, networks, and infrastructure.
- Utilizing observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch to design and maintain monitoring and alerting systems.
- Guiding and mentoring team members through design sessions and collaborative work.
Qualifications:
- Modern insight into hosting architectures driven by infrastructure as code.
- Product mindset focused on developing products rather than solutions.
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in large projects.
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
- Proven experience in managing and deploying cloud infrastructure using code.
- Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, firewalls, and various storage solutions.
- Hands-on experience in administering enterprise Linux servers.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related engineering field.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
