Job Summary:
As a Senior Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer, you will support and maintain all IT production services at Canonical, which serve over 60 million Ubuntu users. Your primary responsibilities will include driving operations automation, utilizing open-source infrastructure as code software, and providing critical feedback on product operability at scale. You'll work as part of a global team to ensure optimal service delivery for Canonical, its customers, and the Ubuntu Community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive development of automation and Gitops as a tech lead in your team.
- Collaborate with IS architects to ensure alignment of solutions with the IS architecture vision.
- Design and architect new IT services as products.
- Develop infrastructure as code practices within IS, increasing automation and improving processes.
- Maintain operational responsibility for Canonical's core services and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot, plan capacity, and investigate performance issues.
Requirements:
- Experience in infrastructure as code for both private and public clouds.
- Proficiency in Python software development and experience with large projects.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
- Knowledge of managing and deploying cloud infrastructure with code.
- Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience administering enterprise Linux servers.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in written and verbal forms.
