We are hiring a Senior Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer to join our Information Systems (IS) team. This role presents an opportunity for an "automation-first" senior technologist with a passion for Linux to build a career at the company. You will drive operations automation and work with some of the industry's best professionals, leveraging Ubuntu and open-source products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of automation and Gitops as an embedded tech lead within the team.
- Collaborate closely with the IS architect to align solutions with the IS architecture vision.
- Design and architect services that IS can offer as products.
- Implement infrastructure as code practices within IS, enhancing automation and improving processes.
- Automate software operations to ensure reusability and consistency across private and public clouds.
- Maintain operational responsibility for the company's core services, networks, and infrastructure.
- Develop skills in troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance investigation.
- Utilize observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch for monitoring and alerting.
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering, operations, and support teams.
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members through design sessions, mentorship, and collaborative work.
Requirements:
- Modern understanding of hosting architecture, especially infrastructure as code.
- Product mindset to develop products rather than just solutions.
- Proven Python software development experience, particularly with large projects.
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure management and deployment through code.
- Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and firewalls.
- Administering enterprise Linux servers and general Linux storage technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts.
- A bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in computer science or a related field.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbally and in written form.
- Motivated to troubleshoot complex issues and willing to seek assistance when needed.
- Adaptable, quick learner, and passionate about open-source technologies, especially Ubuntu or Debian.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English is required.
