You will work on maintaining IT production services used by over 60 million Ubuntu users and will be responsible for automating software operations and enhancing the company's products by providing critical feedback to developers. This role allows you to join a global team of SREs, collaborating to ensure the best service for the company's customers and the wider Ubuntu community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead automation and GitOps development within the team.
- Collaborate with IS architects to align solutions with architectural vision.
- Design and architect services for organizational use.
- Develop and enhance IaC practices within IS.
- Automate operations for consistency across cloud environments.
- Maintain operational responsibility for core services and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and optimize performance using observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Mentor and share best practices with team members.
Requirements:
- Experience in hosting architecture with a focus on infrastructure as code.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with large projects.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
- Proven experience in managing cloud infrastructure with code and knowledge of Linux networking and storage solutions.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise Linux servers.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
- Proficient in English, with strong communication skills.
