Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer will work in the area of Software Engineering, focusing on the development, maintenance, and optimization of software solutions and applications. Key responsibilities include applying scientific methods to analyze and solve software engineering problems, developing and applying software engineering practices in research, design, development, and maintenance. The role requires exercising original thought and judgment while supervising the technical and administrative work of other software engineers, building skills and expertise to meet standard software engineer expectations, and collaborating as a team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.

Grade Specific Responsibilities:

• Fully competent in the area of expertise with a deep understanding of related programming concepts, software design, and development principles.
• Works autonomously with minimal supervision while leading a team in software design and development activities.
• Proactively understands client needs, offering advice even when not requested.
• Assesses and adapts to project issues, formulates innovative solutions, and drives the team towards achieving technical and commercial goals under pressure.
• Aware of profitability needs and manages costs for specific projects or work areas.
• Explains complex concepts to varied audiences, motivates team members, and creates informal networks with key contacts outside their area.
