We are looking for a highly talented Senior Android Engineer to join the team in Riyadh. An ideal candidate will have a track record as a significant individual contributor as well as a strong team player.
As a Senior Android Engineer, you will:
- Stay updated on the latest software development methodologies to provide best-in-class software solutions.
- Analyze product requirements to understand engineering needs, evaluate technical feasibility, estimate efforts, and collaborate with the Product Team.
- Build development components and manage the programming of solution components to transform requirements into functional software.
- Document all coding steps for comprehensibility and future maintenance.
- Write unit, integration, and UI/Snapshot tests.
- Investigate and resolve issues and bugs through patches and other means.
- Collaborate with peers for code reviews and deliver reports accordingly.
- Conduct functional and module testing to ensure solution functionality.
- Monitor and report on product development, recommending improvements as necessary.
- Assist in user trials and acceptance testing.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong foundation in design patterns and algorithms (Kotlin preferred, Java background accepted).
- Expertise in native Android development with a technology-agnostic mindset.
- Hands-on experience in delivering high-quality, testable code using modern mobile architectures.
- In-depth understanding of the Android lifecycle (Activities, Fragments) and experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).
- Proven track record of significant impact on complex systems.
- Familiarity with Modern Android Development (MAD) practices and toolkits, including ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs, Retrofit2, RxJava2, and multi-module Dagger2 setups.
- Cross-platform versatility with experience in both Android and iOS ecosystems.
- Nice to Have: Experience with Firebase, Google Maps API, Fastlane automation, and the Checkout.com SDK.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English is required. Arabic proficiency is desirable.
