Senior Software Engineer - Android

About the Job: Comera is a free-messaging app that allows users to communicate through one-to-one chats, voice calls, and video calls using mobile data or Wi-Fi. The application supports group chats and enables users to share various media, including photos, videos, documents, and locations.

Location: Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Understand and participate in the code review process.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Skills and Attributes:

• Familiarity with Android architecture components and MVVM architecture.
• Understanding of dependency injection frameworks and experience with Android SDK.
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles.
• Experience with Dependency Injection frameworks and Jetpack libraries.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with large-scale SQLite/Room databases.
• Working experience with Coroutines and Flow.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, learning-oriented environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Kotlin.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in designing and building advanced applications for the Android platform.
