The Senior Backend Engineer role focuses on developing high-performance, scalable backend systems. This position requires expertise in the Node.js ecosystem (including Nest.js), microservices architecture design, monitoring tools, and various storage solutions. A solid understanding of blockchain technologies is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable backend microservices using the Nest.js framework
- Design and implement high-performance, low-latency APIs and backend systems
- Monitor technical and business metrics to ensure service stability
- Conduct regular system profiling and optimize database queries
- Write clean, well-documented code while adhering to internal standards
- Set up and manage alerting systems for early detection of vulnerabilities
- Participate in code reviews and agile sprint planning sessions
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to enhance system performance
Requirements:
- Proven industry experience in fintech, DeFi, or cryptocurrency
- Practical experience developing microservices capable of handling high-load traffic
- Advanced proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, strong SQL skills, and PostgreSQL experience
- Familiarity with Redis, message brokers (NATS, EMQX, or Kafka), and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Understanding of blockchain fundamentals, Web3, and Solidity
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and fundamental Kubernetes concepts
- Experience within Scrum-based environments
- Proactive communicator with strong problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to adhere to a hybrid schedule, with at least three days per week on-site in Dubai
Skills:

- Skilled in applying data protection best practices
- Ability to promote best practices and mentor peers through code reviews
