As Senior Software Engineer – Cloud ERP, you will be a fully participating member of an agile feature team, working independently on software development and problem resolution. The role involves technical design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, reliable software components that support Cloud ERP business capabilities, integrations, and extensions—while applying the company Group engineering standards and modern DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior technical engineers, technical product owners, and architects to analyse application requirements and contribute to technical solution design for Cloud ERP-enabled capabilities.
  • Convert technical solutions for small to medium initiatives into low-level designs and production-ready code, aligned to approved architecture patterns and engineering standards.
  • Independently write secure, optimised code using the company Group approved coding standards, ensuring maintainability and operational supportability.
  • Participate in rotational on-call support and resolve production issues within SLAs, applying structured troubleshooting and root cause resolution with minimal supervision.
  • Drive built-in quality by ensuring 100% unit test coverage as part of CI/CD pipelines and maintaining high standards for automated testing and code validation.
  • Analyse and fix defects with minimal rework, applying disciplined engineering practices to reduce recurrence and improve stability.
  • Apply refactoring practices consistently to minimise technical debt and sustain long-term maintainability of Cloud ERP extensions and services.
  • Implement appropriate logging, monitoring, and observability hooks in developed code to support proactive support and operational insights.
  • Continuously stay current with relevant technologies and apply learnings to improve code quality, delivery efficiency, and platform reliability.
  • Adhere to the company Group IT software engineering playbooks, standards, and best practices, contributing improvements where appropriate.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computational Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably within agile ways of working, delivering solutions in enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience designing and developing software in an enterprise context, including strong systems analysis and technical design capability.
  • Practical understanding of testing concepts including unit testing, functional testing, and test automation, with experience embedding testing into CI/CD.
  • Experience supporting production systems, including incident resolution, defect management, and maintaining service reliability.
  • Experience working with enterprise integration and data technologies commonly used around Cloud ERP platforms (e.g., SQL/PLSQL, APIs/integration services, workflow automation, and enterprise reporting outputs such as XML-based templates).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with product, architecture, engineering, and operational stakeholders.
