We are looking for a highly talented Senior Backend Engineer to join the Growth team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record as a significant individual contributor and a strong team player, working closely with management teams to drive strategic initiatives across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in architectural decision-making on a platform used by millions.
- Take part in migrating our monolithic application to Microservices.
- Design, improve, and secure the overall backend architecture to support massive growth in users and products.
- Handle Docker containers, Kubernetes manifests, all on Google Cloud Platform.
- Coach and mentor other team members as a senior member.
- Embrace Design Driven Development, SOLID Principles, Event-driven Architecture, and automated tests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and agile teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Contribute to test coverage, refactoring, and documentation.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in backend development using GoLang, Ruby on Rails (RoR), Java, or Python.
- Strong database expertise with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases including knowledge of ACID principles, indexing, query optimization, and memory caching (e.g., Redis, Memcached).
- Proficiency in monitoring, alerting, and logging tools such as Grafana.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, Kubernetes, and containerization.
- Experience with monolithic migration and a strong testing mindset.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills necessary to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
