Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: Full-time, 4 days a week in office & 1 day from home; remote work from any country for 30 days a year; unlimited vacation days.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineers across teams to architect and build highly scalable and robust backend applications and services.
- Write and review high-quality, performant, and reliable code.
- Continuously improve service quality and reliability, and help define and enhance team principles.
- Act as a subject matter expert, collaborating with Product Managers to refine functional specifications.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
- Participate in on-call rotation to assist in resolving incidents within defined SLA.
- Engage in team agile and engineering practices and lead their evolution.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- 3+ years of experience in design and architecture of services.
- 2+ years of mentoring software engineers.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, Golang, or Kotlin.
- Experience in designing and building large-scale, distributed applications in a cloud environment.
- Knowledge of production systems operation including deploying changes reliably.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Kotlin, Java Spring, Golang, and AWS.
- Familiarity with Kafka and container technology (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in a high-paced start-up environment.
