The Senior Software Engineer – Java Fullstack is a fully participating member of an agile feature team, working independently on software development and problem resolution. The role involves technical design, software development, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions/products that support the Emirates Group Business.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with senior technical engineers in the technical design process by contributing to the analysis of technical application requirements.
- Convert technical solutions for small to medium-sized initiatives into low-level design and working code.
- Independently write secure and optimized code through the implementation of the Emirates Group-approved coding standards.
- Participate in rotational on-call support and actively resolve production issues within SLAs with minimal supervision.
- Ensure built-in quality and 100% unit testing as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
- Analyse and fix all identified defects with minimal rework.
- Stay updated with relevant technologies to enhance code quality.
Requirements
- Degree or Honours (12+3) or equivalent in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Backend Application Development, primarily using Python (versions 3–7) with microservices capability.
- Strong understanding of Backend Technologies: Java 8, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful API, SOAP, Microservices, and Design Patterns.
- Proficiency in Web Technologies: React.js and various Database Technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, Couchbase, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with Cloud Technologies: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and experience with DevOps tooling: GIT, Docker, OpenShift.
