As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team and contribute to the evolution of Ubuntu by working on traditional server workloads, virtualization, containers, package management, and more. This role is perfect for a software engineer passionate about open-source software and technology.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate proactively within a distributed team.
- Foster a software ecosystem with a seamless user experience for all Ubuntu users.
- Evaluate contributions from other engineers to uphold high-quality software standards.
- Shape the future of Ubuntu through innovative ideas and collaborative efforts.
- Own the maintenance of Ubuntu Server packages, including web servers, databases, and network services.
Work Conditions:
- Remote work with the possibility of global travel (2 to 4 weeks) for internal and external events.
- Full-time position.
What We Are Looking For:
- Passionate about technology and teamwork.
- Curious, flexible, articulate, and accountable.
- Experience in open-source maintenance or contributions is preferred.
- Proficient in multiple programming languages (C/C++, Python, Rust, Go, Ruby, PHP).
- Experience in packaging for specific ecosystems and creating containers and virtual machines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent professional experience (5+ years).
