Senior Software Engineer - Python/MongoDB

Canonical is enabling high-performing, rock-solid MongoDB deployments on any cloud or platform our customers choose. We aim to create the world's best open-source alternative to MongoDB Atlas or Amazon DocumentDB, designed for ownership, control, and operation by end-users on their multi-cloud or on-premise environments.

We are looking for an experienced Python developer with a background in MongoDB to help us build a fully managed MongoDB solution based on Juju. Our objective is to establish the most reliable and secure way to deploy and operate MongoDB across machines, VMs, public cloud, and Kubernetes.

As a member of our small MongoDB team, you will be a key contributor, and your work will significantly impact the product and the broader ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance our MongoDB solution.
• Work in mission-critical environments, leveraging your Python programming skills.
• Manage and operate MongoDB clusters.
• Engage in modern infrastructure deployment automation or traditional Linux systems administration.
• Advocate for quality and automatic testing in all aspects of development.
