To succeed as a Senior Software Engineer at Space42, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong understanding of core computer science topics, including systems, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in coding and testing of software modules while taking ownership of assigned software features or user stories.
- Analyze and transform ambiguous requirements into clear solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA and DevOps, to design and implement software solutions.
- Research new technologies to improve product development processes.
- Promote best practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Deployment.
- Participate in all phases of the Agile development process (analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation).
- Assist in technical design processes and requirements analysis.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of demonstrable experience in software development.
- Proficiency in DevOps tools (Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
- Extensive experience with the ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, ArcSDE).
- Strong skills in the FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) for data transformation and workflow automation.
- Expertise in geospatial data management and optimization of enterprise geospatial databases (Oracle/SQL-based).
- Fluency in at least two programming languages: C/C++, Java, and Python.
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular/React).
- Experience with NoSQL and relational databases, such as Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies (Spark, Elastic, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
