Expectations
We seek a technical leader who can transition from strictly writing code to architecting scalable systems, mentoring junior developers, and aligning technical solutions with business goals. The position requires the ability to ensure projects are delivered efficiently while establishing best practices across the development lifecycle. A senior engineer in this role will be capable of owning end-to-end outcomes, planning projects, and making critical technical decisions independently. They will also serve as a "force multiplier" by coaching junior developers, refining code quality, and reviewing pull requests. Additionally, the engineer will explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and write clear technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead system design in your domain by creating high-level and low-level technical specifications and evaluating system architectures to ensure security, reliability, and scalability. Participate in technology selection by evaluating frameworks and tools for the project. Enforce best practices by maintaining engineering standards regarding code quality, automated testing, and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment).
- Mentorship & Team Guidance: Provide constructive feedback and coaching to junior and mid-level engineers to facilitate their career growth. Review code submitted by team members to identify bugs, improve performance, and ensure adherence to standards.
- Project & Task Management: Break down complex features into actionable tasks and establish realistic timelines and resource estimates. Identify and mitigate technical risks before they impact product delivery. Contribute to identifying and resolving the technical debt backlog.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translate technical concepts into business terms for non-technical stakeholders, product managers, and executive management. Collaborate with various departments to ensure software solutions meet market and user demands.
- Problem Solving & Maintenance: Diagnose the root cause of the most difficult software issues and build practical, permanent solutions. Refactor and optimize existing legacy codebases to improve performance and maintainability.
Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals of software development and computer sciences.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language used at the company.
- Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to design large-scale, resilient, and secure software architectures.
