Senior Software Test Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and aviation software testing. This position involves ensuring the quality and compliance of software used in safety-critical environments, primarily in the aerospace and defense sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain test cases from requirements and design documents.
• Execute manual and automated tests against functional, performance, and safety requirements.
• Ensure compliance with RTCA DO-178C in safety-critical environments.
• Manage the full testing lifecycle: planning, execution, defect reporting, and completion.
• Oversee testing for embedded and avionics-related systems.
• Mentor the team on test automation and continuous integration (CI) best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in QA strategies and methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and validation.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in software testing for embedded systems in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong experience with RTCA DO-178C standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute test cases, test plans, and test procedures.
  • Proficiency with test automation tools; experience with the Rapita Verification Suite is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of JIRA and the Atlassian suite for defect tracking and team collaboration.

Preferred Skills:

• Technical and line management experience.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
