Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our thriving technical community and growing business in UAE as part of the EMEA Public Sector team. In this role, you will join a friendly and supportive team that works together to bring the latest in disruptive cloud computing technologies to organisations serving our Public Sector customers, including government agencies, state-owned companies, educational institutions, healthcare, and non-profit organisations. Our Public Sector teams help customers build a deeper understanding of hyper-scale cloud technology and application architectures while possessing the consultative and leadership skills required to drive successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical relationship with customers, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency, and best-practice architectures.
- Act as an advocate for customers to drive continual improvements to the AWS platform, sharing their needs to inform the roadmap of AWS features and services.
- Help shape the future of the Solutions Architecture organisation by hiring, coaching, and mentoring others.
- Link technology to tangible solutions, defining or inventing cloud-native reference architectures with the AWS Solutions Architect community.
- Create and share best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures (e.g., white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelise AWS technology through workshops and public speaking.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
- Background in Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering, or DevOps, with a demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in business-fluent English and Arabic.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
- Experience designing, building, refactoring, or operating large scale and impactful IT systems—either on premises or in the cloud.
- Working knowledge of cloud-native architectures and multiple technology domains (e.g., distributed internet-scale applications, DevOps, Big Data, analytics, Machine Learning, enterprise workloads).
- Experience working in a customer-facing role.
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or other industry certification.
