Responsibilities
- Conduct technical analysis of platform and payload specifications for new and renewal incoming insurance placements, particularly communication and observation payloads.
- Develop and maintain a proprietary space technical database to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.
- Utilize both the proprietary database and relevant third-party databases to create models and statistics on Space risks.
- Perform analysis and sensitivity testing of space insurance policy loss criteria.
- Assist the Claims Manager in analyzing the technical aspects of failures and impacts to the policy; perform calculations of all space claims in relation to loss criteria.
- Attend technical briefings and market meetings as required; draft technical questions and prepare summaries of findings.
- Promote the company's brand consistently while fostering cross-collaboration across the organization.
- Issue quotes in accordance with Delegated Authority rules and internal processes.
- Capture Space Risk data in the proprietary ATOM system and conduct thorough analyses.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.
- Promote the brand within the space industry and insurance market through content production and participation in conferences, roadshows, and market events.
- Participate in risk assessment processes, including but not limited to new business, renewals, and endorsements, while adhering to the Underwriting Authority agreement framework.
- Engage in end-to-end risk review including policy wording analysis, pricing adequacy, satellite health report review, historical loss ratio analysis, and line size determination.
- Contribute to the acquisition and entry of pertinent space risk data into the ATOM platform.
Requirements
- Degree educated in Aerospace or Payload Engineering or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in satellite manufacturing, predominantly in payload system design and engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications with demonstrated experience and interest in automated processes and systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate and explain complex technical specifications effectively.
- Strong team player who can express differing opinions in a constructive manner.
- Meticulous, hardworking, with a positive can-do attitude, displaying strong mental agility, curiosity, and independent judgment.
- Professional demeanor, self-motivated, and proactive in finding solutions.
