Senior Specialist, Cost Accounting

About the Role:
This role is responsible for supporting product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing finance activities through cost analysis, inventory accounting, variance reporting, and financial reporting processes. This position contributes to accurate cost information, inventory valuation, and operational decision-making while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain product cost structures, Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and standard costing information within approved systems and processes.
• Perform product costing activities, cost roll-ups, and standard cost updates to support accurate costing and inventory valuation.
• Analyse direct material, labor, and manufacturing overhead costs and support cost estimate development for products and manufacturing activities.
• Perform manufacturing variance analysis, including material, labor, overhead, and inventory variances, and investigate significant deviations.
• Support inventory valuation activities, inventory reconciliations, inventory provision assessments, and cycle count reviews.
• Monitor inventory movements, write-offs, slow-moving inventory, and obsolete inventory and provide analysis and recommendations where required.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities through preparation of reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and costing analyses.
• Prepare cost, inventory, margin, and profitability reports to support operational and financial performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company accounting policies, and internal controls related to costing and inventory accounting.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance teams to support costing activities, process improvements, and business initiatives.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
• Experience: 3 years minimum in a relevant field.
