The role involves fostering strong relationships across functions, improving processes, and guiding project teams to ensure efficient project delivery and a high standard of competency among Project Planning personnel throughout the company.

Key Accountabilities
Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Help oversee the overall Project Planning program across the group, monitor alignment with defined targets, and identify deviations and risks to report to the Head of Project Planning.
  • Act as the custodian of group-specific project planning policies, procedures, methodologies, and tools in line with company guidelines, ensuring dissemination and compliance.
  • Provide technical expertise in project planning & scheduling as required.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, transparency, and consistency of reports/dashboards, with distribution to stakeholders.
  • Highlight key issues requiring Group Company management or shareholders' attention.
  • Participate in assurance audits and independent project reviews (IPRs) to align projects with company policies and enhance overall value.
  • Plan and execute initiatives to improve capital delivery programs and maximize the company’s value.
  • Support the development of project planning competency and career development programs, establishing clear deployment guidelines.
  • Promote alignment of technical resources and activities across the group through the development of a technical authority framework.

Project Control

  • Support Project Managers in controlling individual project planning by applying company methodologies, processes, and templates.
  • Maintain planning for strategic projects.
  • Aid in overseeing project progress and performance while supporting timely identification of potential issues and mitigation actions.
  • Support risk management by ensuring regular updates of the risk register at the project level.
  • Drive timely Management of Change (MoC) processes for changes affecting assets and projects.
  • Prepare periodic project reports and provide monthly reports and key dashboard indicators for Group Company management.
  • Supply the Project Manager, Project Controls Manager, and Group Company Project Services with timely project performance information.
  • Participate in regular PMT meetings to present an overview of progress, risks, and specific inquiries.
  • Educate the PMT on project control methodologies, processes, and templates.

Generic Accountabilities
Supervision

  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills for job proficiency and section objective delivery.

Budgets

  • Provide input for the preparation of Unit/Department/Section budgets and assist in implementing approved budgets and work plans.
  • Investigate and highlight significant variances for effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement approved policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to support work program execution in line with company and International standards.

Performance Management

  • Contribute to achieving approved Performance Objectives for the Division/Function/Directorate in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to enhance operational processes' quality and efficiency.
  • Identify internal process improvements and align with industry best practices for greater efficiency.
  • Track changes to project scope, ensuring visibility of cost changes and schedule impacts to clients and project management.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Adhere to relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, legislation, and sustainability guidelines as per international standards and company Codes of Practice.

Reports

  • Contribute inputs to prepare Unit/Department/Section Management Information Systems (MIS) and progress reports for company management.

Communications & Working Relationships
Internal

  • Collaborate with SVP, VPs within the Function, VP Projects in all Businesses, and other Units as required.
  • Interact with company Group Companies.

External

  • Engage with shareholders, counterparts, and members of the company Group as necessary.
  • Communicate with local and international vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science/Project Management or relevant disciplines.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 10 years of relevant experience in NOCs/IAMs or EPC(M) companies, including at least 4 years addressing technical discipline challenges as an Expert/Principal/Discipline Technical Authority.
  • Major Project Management/Engineering experience is essential.
  • Good knowledge and experience in defining and implementing Project Management Control (PMC) frameworks.
