Responsibilities
As a Senior Civil Structural Engineer, you will:
- Review and validate detailed structural designs, calculations, specifications, and Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, international codes, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with architectural, MEP, geotechnical, façade, and other design disciplines throughout design and construction phases.
- Support Architect of Record (AoR) responsibilities, including design amendments, authority approvals, and contractor design reviews.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and method statements.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor structural works for quality, safety, and compliance with approved documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, design conflicts, and construction challenges.
- Participate in BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design reviews.
- Monitor construction progress, quality, and structural compliance throughout project delivery.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, and support project handover, including as-built documentation and the Defects Liability Period.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- 15+ years of work experience in civil engineering, specifically in large-scale building projects within the UAE.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience working within an engineering consultancy.
- Proven experience in delivering luxury villa and high-end residential developments.
- Previous experience on waterfront or coastal developments is highly desirable.
