Responsibilities
- Design and develop a coherent software and system ecosystem, which includes an Integrated Development Environment (IDE), a runtime environment for industrial real-time devices, and a digital platform.
- Collaborate closely with product teams (both hardware and software) to ensure seamless integration of all components, enhancing usability and system performance.
- Define and enforce best practices in software architecture and design, firmware development, and system architecture to meet non-functional requirements such as performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Apply agile methodologies to facilitate collaborative and efficient team environments, ensuring timely delivery of integrated solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders across different areas to gather and validate requirements, ensuring that the software ecosystem meets diverse needs.
- Lead the technological decision-making processes for each individual product and the overall product portfolio, aligning them with overarching business goals and technological standards.
- Stay informed about new technologies and methods that could benefit the ecosystem and drive continuous innovations and improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 15-20 years of experience in software architecture, system design, system architecture, embedded software development, and a comprehensive understanding of IDEs, runtime environments, and digital platforms.
- Proven ability to integrate complex software products into coherent ecosystems with a focus on usability and performance optimization.
- Strong background in industrial automation, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing, with hands-on technical experience in developing necessary system/software architectures for building modern automation solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences and persuade stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- Familiarity with modern software development tools, languages, and frameworks, along with a commitment to staying updated on industry trends and innovations.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English; knowledge of German is a plus.

To comply with legal regulations, we refer to the minimum salary of the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry, which is €4,623.87 gross/month. There is a clear willingness to exceed this amount depending on qualifications and experience.
