About the Role
The company is seeking a Senior System Engineer to serve as the Railway System Interface Manager, based in Al Ain. The Railway Senior System Engineer is tasked with designing, integrating, and optimizing railway systems to ensure their safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role necessitates system-level thinking that encompasses rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure, power supply, and communication systems. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Railway Integration Manager and other System Engineering and System Assurance Experts to facilitate the development and validation of all interfaces for effective system integration during the design and construction of the railway system.

Key Accountabilities
A. System Interface Management
- Managing railway system scenarios, requirements, and system architecture related to interactions among subsystems (rolling stock, signaling, tracks, power supply).
- Selecting appropriate technologies and configurations for new rail projects.
- Overseeing interface development by subsystems and coordinating the verification and validation process of all interfaces throughout the project's lifecycle until final closure.
- Ensuring correct interface management with all external stakeholders and completing all relevant authorization processes.
B. System Integration
- Ensuring interoperability between different railway subsystems, focusing on interfaces among rolling stock, signaling, and infrastructure.
- Validating system compatibility with national and international standards (e.g., EN, NFPA).
- Confirming proper subsystem integration to validate performance and functionalities across all projected railway system scenarios.
C. Verification & Validation
- Enabling integration testing validation by ensuring railway systems meet performance and characteristics specified in project requirements, standards, and regulations.
- Defining and monitoring the execution of the Verification & Validation (V&V) plan concerning system interfaces.
D. Lifecycle Management
- Managing upgrades and modernization projects for railway systems.
- Assisting in asset management and maintenance planning to extend system longevity.
E. Digitalization & Smart Rail Technologies
- Implementing IoT, AI, and Big Data solutions for predictive maintenance and automation.
- Working with Digital Twin, Remote Monitoring, and Smart Signaling technologies.
Education
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in system engineering for railway systems, with a strong emphasis on interface management.
- Experience in promoting sustainability in railway systems design, construction, and operation.
- Proficiency in areas such as Rolling Stock (Locomotives, EMUs, DMUs, High-Speed Trains), Signaling Systems (ETCS, CBTC, PTC, Interlocking), Electrification (25kV AC, 750V DC, 3kV DC systems), and Track Infrastructure (Standard gauge, High-Speed Rail, Light Rail, Metro).
- Expertise in interface management between hardware, software, and infrastructure; managing mixed traffic operations (High-speed, freight, commuter trains).
- Familiarity with relevant standards such as CENELEC Standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129), ETCS/ERTMS, IEC 62290, and UIC, AAR, and FRA Regulations.
- Experience with Systems Engineering tools such as DOORS and Enterprise Architect, as well as Failure & Safety Analysis tools like ReliaSoft, FMECA, and FTA.
- Proficiency in Electrical & Mechanical Design tools, including MATLAB, Simulink, and CATIA.
- Experience in Project Management & Lifecycle Management utilizing methodologies like V-Model, Agile, or Waterfall for large-scale railway system deployment projects.
