Core42, a leader in AI-powered cloud and digital infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in virtualization. The role involves designing, implementing, and providing Level 3 expert support for large-scale private cloud computing infrastructure, focusing on computing technologies including hardware layer, operating system, hypervisor, and orchestration services.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-design, implement, and manage hybrid virtualization and containerized platforms based on OpenStack, VMware VCF, and/or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to evaluate and select technology stack components.
- Conduct regular capacity planning to meet the demands on the virtualized environment.
- Develop and implement plans for enhancing the reliability of the computing infrastructure.
- Analyze and implement performance optimization strategies for the cloud computing environment.
- Provide L3 expert support, including incident management and resolutions.
- Develop automation solutions for cloud platforms using tools like Jenkins, Selenium, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and GitLab CI/CD.
- Prepare and conduct training for operational teams.
- Collaborate with security management teams to ensure systems are secured against cybersecurity threats.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant technology field.
- 7+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing private cloud stacks with a focus on compute and virtualization technologies.
- Extensive hands-on experience with platforms/stacks such as OpenStack, Apache CloudStack, VMware VCF, and Red Hat OpenShift.
- Expert level in Linux with 5+ years of experience in Linux-based environments.
- Proficient in programming and scripting using Python, Golang, and bash.
- Experience with database management and optimization for SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra is a plus.
