Senior Technical Artist

About the Job:
Steer Studios is on a mission to establish a world-leading game studio in Saudi Arabia, focused on creating high-quality games for international audiences. The studio aims to support the growth of a passionate gaming sector in Saudi Arabia, fostering the development of homegrown intellectual properties and positioning KSA as a global gaming hub.

As a Senior Technical Artist, you will play an essential role in the iterative, hands-on process of shaping the studio’s products by taking new projects from concept to playability. You will face platform limitations head-on, acting as the gatekeeper for technical art constraints while striving for top quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate 3D assets, VFX, and animations in accordance with the established art direction and style for the project.
• Develop solutions for asset integration based on project specifications and needs.
• Debug in-game performance and set up constraints without compromising visual quality.
• Continuously deliver, learn, and iterate on the product.
• Collaborate actively with programming and game design teams to ensure optimal use of polygons, shaders, and textures for mobile games.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

• At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Artist or in similar roles.
• Proficient understanding of game engines, preferably Unity.
• Experience with shader creation for mobile.
• Skills in implementing 2D and 3D assets into Unity.
• Knowledge of art pipelines and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with lighting and rendering.
• Experience using 2D and 3D tools (e.g., Photoshop, Maya, Blender).
• Knowledge of VFX creation is appreciated.
• Must be autonomous, proactive, and able to communicate and work in English.
