The company is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Technical Director to provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for the design and engineering delivery of large-scale highways and roads infrastructure programs across Saudi Arabia. As the senior technical authority, you will ensure engineering excellence, compliance with standards, and the successful integration of design across complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. This role focuses on design governance, technical assurance, and engineering leadership, supporting major highway corridors, expressways, interchanges, and road networks from concept through detailed design and construction support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the senior technical authority for highways and roads infrastructure projects, providing leadership across all design and engineering disciplines.
- Lead the planning, development, and delivery of highway and road designs across all project phases, including concept, preliminary, detailed design, and construction support.
- Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including roadway, structures, drainage, utilities, traffic, and ITS.
- Establish and enforce technical standards, design criteria, procedures, and assurance processes for highways and roads programs.
- Review and approve design deliverables to ensure compliance with client requirements, Saudi standards, and best engineering practices.
- Collaborate closely with Program Directors and Project Managers to ensure design solutions align with scope, schedule, budget, and constructability.
- Provide technical leadership in resolving complex engineering challenges associated with large-scale road and highway networks.
- Mentor and develop technical talent within the organization.
Required Skills:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Chartered Membership of a recognized institution.
- 20+ years of experience in highways and roads infrastructure design and engineering.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership on large-scale highways and road corridor projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of Saudi Arabian design standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional registration.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working on government-led or giga-scale infrastructure programs in Saudi Arabia.
- Exposure to smart mobility, digital engineering, and sustainable highways design practices.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced program environments.
