Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of medium to large-scale initiatives, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Design, develop, review, and maintain high-quality software in accordance with company engineering standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
- Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and guidance to software engineering teams.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, stakeholders, vendors, and dependent teams to drive successful delivery and resolve technical dependencies, risks, and challenges.
- Drive engineering excellence through secure coding, test automation, CI/CD, observability, refactoring, and continuous improvement practices.
- Lead the resolution of complex technical and production issues, including major incidents, root cause analysis, and service restoration within agreed SLAs.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, and contribute to engineering standards, playbooks, and best practices.
Requirements
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with proven experience delivering enterprise applications in Agile environments.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise applications.
- Expertise in technologies and frameworks such as Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, React, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong systems analysis, solution design, and architecture skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including secure coding, design patterns, testing strategies, performance optimization, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
- Proven experience leading technical delivery, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering quality across multiple initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder, vendor, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience managing technical dependencies and influencing technology decisions.
- Strong problem-solving, risk management, and production support capabilities, including major incident management and root cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and an understanding of responsible AI usage and modern AI-enabled software engineering practices.
