Senior Technician

The Senior Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VoIP, CCTV, and structured cabling solutions. This role involves providing on-site support, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with higher-level technical teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
• Hands-on experience with CCTV and VoIP Phones / SIP Trunks.
• Skilled in structured cabling (fiber and copper).
• Installation and mounting of routers, switches, servers, and access points.
• Expertise in IP-based IT solutions including firewalls and wireless technology.
• Familiarity with Single/Multi Mode fiber cables (LC/UPC or SC/APC connectors) and performing power loss & OTDR testing (splicing is a plus).
• Knowledge of copper RJ-11 & RJ-45 cabling, connector punching, I/O installation, and rack/patch panel harnessing.
• Proficiency in using network cable testers and related tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve L1 network and equipment issues.
• Coordinate effectively with L2/L3 teams and vendors for escalations.
• Testing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing hardware and network devices.
• Capability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 lbs.
• Strong documentation skills for installations, troubleshooting, and UAT handovers.
• Planning and scheduling customer site visits for installations and testing.

Preferred Certifications:

• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA Network+

Experience Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in the field.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
