The Senior Technology Engineer will play a key role in driving the engineering function within Emirates NBD Group, focusing on Design, Development, Implementation, Standardization, Automation, and Capacity Planning primarily centered around the Linux operating system. The ideal candidate will have a T-shaped technical profile, enabling them to switch between multiple disciplines based on project requirements.
This role involves automating requirements using an infrastructure as code approach, collaborating with Technical and Solution Architects to find optimal solutions, driving projects to compliance, automating installation processes, conducting code reviews, and engaging in continuous research and development.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Drive projects to compliance with standard stack items.
- Automate installation and configuration of standard stack items.
- Establish and manage a product backlog in two-week sprints.
- Complete backlog projects using an infrastructure as code approach.
- Engage with vendors and conduct continuous R&D.
- Automate processes to achieve zero touch unattended deployments.
- Address problem tickets, risk management, and audit items in the product backlog.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Storage or Backup Certified Architect or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Dell EMC Storage and Backup systems.
- Solid knowledge of various storage products such as Dell PowerMAX, Power Store, ECS, and Huawei Oceanstor and Dorado.
- Familiarity with Dell EMC Backup products (Data Domains) and Veritas Cohesity.
- Experience with BROCADE FC switches.
- Proficient in installation, upgrades, and ensuring physical security of data.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Good knowledge of virtualization environments and storage provisioning.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Red Hat & Unix in physical and virtualized environments.
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in both English and Arabic is preferred.
