Key Responsibilities

Telecom and ICT Technical Leadership
- Lead telecommunications and ICT design activities for assigned projects.
- Coordinate and supervise telecom engineers, ELV engineers, and designers.
- Provide technical direction to project teams and monitor design progress.
- Review technical outputs prepared by engineers and designers.
- Ensure consistent engineering standards across telecom projects.

Telecom and ICT Systems Design
- Lead design activities for various systems including:
- Telecommunications Infrastructure: OSP, ISP, fibre-optic networks, copper telecommunications networks, telecom duct-bank systems, equipment rooms, etc.
- Structured Cabling and Data Systems: Structured cabling systems, LAN/WAN, wireless infrastructure, network cabinets.
- ICT Systems: Network architecture, active infrastructure requirements, IP-based communication systems.
- Security and Surveillance Systems: CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and security communication networks.
- Other Low-Current Systems: Public address, IPTV, smart building systems, emergency communication systems, etc.

Telecom Infrastructure Design
- Develop telecom network master planning, external fibre networks, telecom corridor planning, and utility corridor coordination.
- Ensure maintainability, resilience, and compatibility with Saudi telecom service-provider requirements.

Design Documentation
- Prepare and review telecom design reports, system philosophies, diagrams, layouts, and specification documents.

Engineering Calculations and Studies
- Conduct and review fibre-loss budgets, network assessments, rack-capacity calculations, CCTV coverage studies, and more.

Saudi Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure designs comply with Saudi regulations, codes, and client-specific ICT/security standards.
- Utilize international standards where applicable.

Service Provider and Authority Coordination
- Coordinate telecom requirements with CST and relevant service providers.
- Manage technical submissions to telecom authorities and respond to comments.

Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Collaborate with all disciplines on project to integrate telecommunications and ELV systems seamlessly.

BIM and Digital Engineering
- Participate in clash detection and ensure proper incorporation of telecom models into the BIM environment.

Technical Review and Quality Assurance
- Perform technical checks, manage compliance with quality management systems, and document lessons learned.
- Client Interface
- Engage in technical meetings with clients, present design concepts, and provide technical recommendations.
- Tender and Construction Support
- Assist with technical bid evaluations, review proposed equipment, and support testing and commissioning activities.
- Design Optimization and Innovation
- Evaluate alternative technologies, promote scalable telecom infrastructure, and identify opportunities for design efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in telecom/ICT engineering.
- Demonstrable experience in designing telecom and low-current systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Leadership experience in multidisciplinary design environments.
- Saudi Arabian project experience is strongly preferred.
Professional Registration
- Valid or eligible professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
- Relevant international professional accreditation is advantageous.
- Preferred certifications may include: BICSI RCDD, CCNA/CCNP, vendor-specific networking qualifications, and relevant ICT/data centre certifications.
Additional Information
- Software and Digital Skills: Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Microsoft Visio, and network planning/design tools is essential.
- Required Competencies: Strong telecommunications engineering knowledge, client communication, planning and organization, risk awareness, and the ability to manage multiple design packages concurrently.
