Responsibilities
- Carry out studies, development, and detailed design engineering activities pertaining to telecommunication systems and subsystems, including coordination with various discipline groups in an engineering consultancy organization.
- Focus areas of expertise include:
- Onshore telecommunication networks (SDH/OTN/DWDM/Gigabit Ethernet, etc.)
- Wireless digital communication systems (HF, VHF, UHF, Tetra, and spread spectrum, etc.)
- Serial communication systems, CCTV systems, Information Systems, and Telephone/Data Networks
- Structured cabling, PA/GA Systems, Access Control Systems
- Develop discipline work plans and provide overall supervision of telecom engineers, designers, and technical personnel in executing the project and developing project deliverables.
- Provide technical expertise and support in the specification, design, and selection of telecom systems.
- Manage all aspects of telecommunication engineering on assigned projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and risk management.
- Manage design changes within the project budget and schedule framework.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and timely completion of projects.
- Oversee the preparation of design deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain effective interaction with the client engineering team for approval of design deliverables.
- Represent organizational competency and capabilities at various forums.
- Liaise with the Project Manager/Engineer to manage design changes within the project budget and schedule framework.
- Ensure the technical integrity of the telecom deliverables for the project, ensuring compliance with the work scope and applicable international standards.
- Participate in site surveys and data collection for telecom design, as well as various workshops such as design reviews, risk reviews, value engineering, and constructability.
- Work on proposals and prepare manpower estimations.
- Handle workshare with remote offices.
