We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to become the design function for our Generative AI team. This role has two halves: the design work itself, which includes the flows, screens, and visual and interaction decisions across products that are shipping now, and the creation of a design system, tokens, components, and patterns, ensuring that engineering can build directly from your designs. You are expected to turn your design work into artifacts that engineering can use, while also leveraging AI tooling to enhance your workflow.

Key Responsibilities
The role spans four areas, and you will move between them continuously:
-
Product Design Across Web and Mobile
- Design user flows, screens, states, and interactions for Generative AI products that are actively shipping to internal and external users.
- Design the whole experience rather than just the happy path, including empty, loading, error, and edge cases.
- Establish and maintain the visual language for the team's products: typography, color, spacing, layout, iconography, and motion.
- Prototype when it accelerates decision-making.
-
Design System and Handoff to Engineering
- Identify patterns across designs and determine what becomes a token, a component, or a documented pattern.
- Build and maintain a design system in Figma that others can build from, including variables and libraries.
- Provide engineering with a usable design system that includes exported design tokens, CSS, and usage rules with examples.
- Update the system as products evolve, ensuring relevance and usability.
-
Designing for Generative AI Products
- Create patterns that AI products require, such as chat interfaces and visible agent interactions.
- Design for uncertainty, including managing latency and model errors.
- Utilize AI tools to improve design efficiency and usability.
-
Enablement and Adoption
- Ensure that AI-assisted work integrates with the system by default, guiding coding agents to build compliant screens.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure the system's practical application and address discrepancies between design and implementation.
- Foster a non-blocking process where teams do not depend on you to create screens.
Requirements
- Experience: Eight or more years in UI/UX or product design with significant ownership of design decisions.
- Craft and Judgment: Strong visual and interaction design skills; your work should be defensible based on user experience.
- Systems Thinking: Experience turning designs into reusable components and documented libraries.
- Web and Mobile: Proficient in designing for both environments, understanding platform conventions.
- Figma: Strong Figma skills, including knowledge of variables and components.
- Handoff: Able to produce designs that engineering can implement directly.
- Working with AI: Familiarity with AI tools and the ability to discuss their impact on your design work.
- Portfolio: A collection of work demonstrating your process and decisions.
Strong Assets
- Experience designing for AI or agentic products.
- Familiarity with design token pipelines.
- Additional front-end capabilities, such as building components.
- Understanding accessibility practices in design.
- Experience with bilingual interfaces, particularly Arabic and English.
- Skills in motion design, usability testing, or research to validate design decisions.
Why This Role?
- Own the Design Function and set the visual and experience direction for the team.
- Benefit from the impact of your design decisions across products, especially those aided by AI.
- Work at the forefront of AI product design, designing interaction patterns that are largely uncharted territory.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to refine the systems based on real-world applications.
