Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test game functionality based on design specifications.
- Write clean, professional, and maintainable code.
- Continuously refine and optimize existing code.
- Schedule tasks and complete them on time, respecting milestones and deadlines.
- Produce prototypes of gameplay ideas and features.
- Communicate and collaborate with team members across departments (e.g., Art, Design, Production).
- Conception of APIs, tools, and workflows to optimize the development pipeline.
- Expand existing projects for new hardware or devices as needed.
- Proactively solve performance and stability issues.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
- Identify bugs and issues, suggesting solutions to mitigate problems.
- Support quality assurance to ensure high product quality.
- Contribute new ideas to game design and implement proofs of concept.
- Mentor and support new team members.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience at a professional video game company.
- At least 3 shipped game titles as a Lead Programmer.
- Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 4 (Unreal Engine 5 is a plus).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced C++ programming skills, with a strong understanding of architecture and low-level performance programming.
- Excellent 3D math and linear algebra skills.
- Familiar with modern object-oriented programming practices.
Bonus Requirements:
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
- Experience optimizing C++/C# code for performance.
- Familiarity with multithreaded systems.
- Knowledge of major third-party middleware (e.g., PhysX, SpeedTree).
- Familiarity with Perforce or other modern source control management practices.
